Spencer Ogden appoints head of legal and compliance
Morris, who joined the company in March, brings with him a wealth of legal experience. In his 15 year legal career prior to joining Spencer Ogden he developed an in depth knowledge of the legal issues affecting the recruitment industry. His experience covers the whole spectrum of recruitment-related legal work, including commercial contracts, regulatory issues and compliance, data protection and privacy and employment.
His knowledge of working with recruitment companies will help Morris in this new role, where he will be tasked with building Spencer Ogden’s risk and compliance framework and creating a first-class legal function.
Prior to joining Spencer Ogden, Morris worked at SThree where he supported the recruitment firm’s global expansion establishing its global office network and compliance programme. At Spencer Ogden, Morris will work alongside the senior team to develop legal and compliance strategies that will support the firm’s expansion and underpin future growth.
Since its foundation in 2010, Spencer Ogden has grown from a headcount of just 25 to over 400 employees globally and over 750 contractors working on energy projects. Its annual turnover for 2014 was £77 million and the business plans to reach revenues of £100 million in its sixth year of trading.
