Total Assist take home Apprentice Employer of the Year Award
The company was shortlisted from over 50 employers and were voted as Apprentice Employer of the Year beating a top national supermarket retailer amongst others.
This is a huge achievement for their L&D team who introduced the apprenticeship programme to the company 2 years ago.
Sue Murfet L&D manager at Total Assist quoted in a speech at the awards presentation “The apprenticeship programme has benefitted our company to provide an excellent and much quicker service to our NHS clients. Total Assist have worked closely with Setec who have ensured they really understand our business and culture and has allowed us to support our apprentice’s in achieving Business Administration Level 2 & 3. We currently have 16 apprentices, some who have already completed their apprenticeships and the rest coming close to completion with all being offered permanent jobs. The apprenticeship programme has been a fantastic opportunity for young local people who are struggling to find work opportunities.”
Total Assist alsoannounced apprentice Michael John Sylvester-Hall a runner up in the 2015 Highly Commended National Apprentice of the Year Award.
Sylvester-Hall fought off competition from over 1500 entrants from a varied range of sectors to claim second place, a most impressive achievement.
The awards are an annual celebration of the nation’s best apprentices and was hosted by Setec.
Sylvester-Hall began his apprenticeship in February 2014 and has been offered full-time employment at Total Assists. He will join their recruitment consultant team as of this month.
Speaking about his win, Sylvester-Hall said, “I made the decision to join an apprenticeship scheme last year as I wanted to make progress career wise. I began working at Total Assist and found that learning on the job was ideal and the environment at the company was a perfect fit. I am very happy to have come so far, and it shows that dedication can really propel you. I am grateful for the award”
