Athonas Las Vegas charity ball raises funds for Saint Francis Hospice and Guide Dogs
More than a hundred guests attended the Las Vegas-themed event – and the ball even had its very own Vegas bride and groom.
The entertainment kicked off with Essex Factor runner-up Chris Daley, who had performed at last year’s event and didn’t fail to impress again this year with his soulful renditions of current and classic hits. Gary Graceland then wowed guests as the King himself, Mr Elvis Presley, complete with a jewelled, encrusted blue jumpsuit. Professional boxer and Essex lad Joe Mullender also made an appearance as the evening’s special guest.
The charity auction saw employees battling against each other to win fantastic lots, such as tickets to see Paul McCartney, Jersey Boys and a day with the guide dogs. Of course, no trip to Vegas would be complete without a visit to the blackjack and roulette tables. Other guests headed to the photo booth for instant snaps of themselves and friends with various props.
Athona’s husband-and-wife directors, Stewart and Tina London, frequently hold events to raise money for charities chosen by company employees. Tina said, “I am delighted that our charity ball has been so successful for a second year running. A huge thanks to everyone that contributed on the night, especially those who handed over their hard-earned cash in support of these two worthy charities. We look set to raise almost £4,000 from the night, and now look forward to planning our next fundraising
