Parasol founder shortlisted for entrepreneur award
Crossland, a former IT contractor who launched Parasol in 2000 and built it into one of the UK’s biggest employment services firms, described being shortlisted as a huge honour.
He said: “Looking at some of the names on the shortlist, I’m really proud to be in such good company in the final.
“I’d like to thank everyone who works hard every day to make Parasol and the whole Optionis Group a success. After all, an entrepreneur is only as good as his or her team.”
Along with sister firms ClearSky Contractor Accounting and ClearSky Business, Parasol is part of the Optionis Group. Headquartered in Cheshire, Optionis currently employs more than 300 office-based staff in total.
The North of England final will take place in Manchester on 23rd June, with the winner progressing to compete for the title of EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year 2015.
Former winner Ian Kelly, who will chair the North of England judging panel, said: “Entrepreneurs come in different packages, but we’ll be looking for individuals who have exceptional leadership and motivational qualities, and who set about achieving their vision through innovation, adaptability and inspiration – whilst maintaining their focus on momentum.
“I’m sure we will hear some fascinating stories about the journeys these entrepreneurs have been on – and these stories need to be shared through programmes like Entrepreneur of the Year to inspire future leaders in the region.”
