REC responds to Labour's Education Manifesto
“It’s encouraging to see commitments to improve careers advice included in Labour’s Education Manifesto, as we have been calling for this for a long time. In our manifesto for jobs, we said that the next government must make employability a core element of the school curriculum, and create a careers advice service that gives people at all ages access to the jobs market.
“We believe that recruiters have an important role to play in this. They are well-placed to help students and job seekers prepare for the world of work by giving them insight to the skills and attributes that employers are looking for. We’re encouraging our members to build links with schools, and also with Jobcentre plus, so that they can provide this kind of expertise.”
