Adecco expands public sector work
The appointment follows impressive growth by Adecco within the sector. The company increased its public sector market share under the first framework, which ended in 2014, and its public sector portfolio is now worth more than £100m a year.
Adecco initiatives in support of fair public sector recruitment include forums to tackle the growing issue of references for locum Health & Social Care workers improvements to the cash flow of SME suppliers through reductions in payment terms thus helping customers meet the government’s commitment to support SMEs consultation with both customers and specialist suppliers to ensure both maximum cost savings and sustainability for the duration of contracts and the combination of neutral vend models for Health & Social Care to ensure fulfilment rates and the cost savings realised from master vend models.
The MSTAR2 framework is available to all local government and other wider public sector bodies across the UK and allows local authorities to save money when agreeing new temporary worker contracts by opting into a national arrangement. It is the first national temporary worker recruitment framework of its kind, sparing local authorities the time and cost of individually negotiating and agreeing contracts with recruitment companies.
Alex Fleming, managing director of Adecco, said, “Public sector organisations are increasingly looking for efficiencies. This also extends to their HR and recruitment needs and we are committed to helping them make further cost savings and ensure public money is maximised by doing our part in offering a fair deal.
“Our promotion to lots two and three of MSTAR2 demonstrates this pledge and our ability to offer value for money solutions for organisations during particularly challenging times”.
Hassan Iqbal, strategic procurement business partner at oneSource- London Borough of Newham and Havering, said, “The continuous improvements and significant savings which working with Adecco has helped us achieve are being realised across our organisation in that we are now able to award further business.
“By working closely with Adecco at their specialist open days, our hiring managers have developed strong relationships with their team that have in turn reduced the level of off-contract spend. We have also worked with Adecco to implement a & lsquo;prompt’ payment schedule which has eased cash flow pressures particularly for the SME specialist suppliers we work with, enabling them to keep margins low and candidate quality high."
