Ambition hosts wellbeing week for employees
The London based boutique recruitment business hosted a range of free health and wellbeing initiatives during the week of 11th May, giving staff the opportunity to try out a variety of activities to boost their physical and mental wellbeing.
The week started with a free breakfast bar offering porridge, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Various other breakfast options such as wholemeal bagels with organic peanut butter, were made available throughout the week.
Activities on offer included:
· A mixed football match
· Free massages
During the week staff also received daily emails containing tips on healthy eating and recipes for nutritious meals to make at home.
Andrea Williams, managing director of the UK office, said “Ambition is committed to helping our employees be as healthy and happy as they can be.
We wanted to ensure that everyone, regardless of their level of fitness and ability, was able to get involved in Wellbeing Week and take advantage of least some of the activities on offer. We are delighted that it went down so well.”
Coinciding with mental health awareness week, employees were also encouraged to be mindful of stress, how it might affect them and the people they work with.
As well as encouraging staff to be active and eat healthily, one of the main benefits of wellbeing week was that it generated a real sense of team spirit in the workplace.
Andrea Williams said that staff went above and beyond to ensure the week was a success “One of the staff members volunteered to host a bootcamp, another baked healthy breakfast biscuits for the whole office and during that week we felt a really positive vibe around the office.”
She added “Although we host one wellbeing week per year, staying fit and active and working as a team is something that we as a business encourage throughout the year. We often get involved in charity events, fun runs and team football and netball matches. All of these activities bring staff together for a common cause and provides a real morale boost and sense of unity which ultimately helps improves productivity and communication across the business.”
