Ciett president praises recruitment industry in helping tough economy at conference
She opened her speech to staffing professionals at the conference, which runs from the 27th to the 29th of May, by stressing, “Today there are 201 million unemployed globally, of which 74 million are young people looking for a job. We know we need to create 280 million jobs over the next 5 years to absorb all. Jobs that require skills our current talent often doesn't have.
“38% of companies cannot find the right skills sets today. The prognoses is, that this will become worse. We also know that the demographic shift is looming, we are all getting older and grayer while in Europe our working population is shrinking....towards a shortage of 35 million in 2050.”
However, she highlighted that the theme of the conference, “Triple Win of the employment & recruitment industry”, looks at the positive impact the recruitment industry is having on employment, explaining that the industry can benefit from three gains: “mobility, inclusion and competitiveness”.
She emphasised, “And our added value to the three parties involved! Our employees, our clients and the society at large.”
Speaking of the reach and influence of the recruitment industry, Mutnz stated, “The contribution our industry can deliver, we know from experience, is: The Employment & Recruitment industry can make a difference”....A positive difference.”
She further stated that one of the key aims of Ciett is to showcase the useful role that private employment services play in the changing world of work.”
Stefano Scabbio, chair of Assolavoro, opened the conference by talking about the current labour market in Italy.
2016’s Ciett conference will be held in New Delhi.
