Drivers Direct on recruitment drive at BFRS event
The announcement follows on from the BRFS career event that took place at the leisure centre in Catterick. Drivers Direct was one of the 52 exhibitors at the show and attracted a lot of interest from visitors looking for a new career once they leave the forces later this year.
The company is now looking to increase the number of commercial drivers it is able to offer its clients across the country to more than 1000 drivers on the road each week and to support the new branches it has recently opened in Liverpool, Derby and Romford.
The BFRS was set up in 2009 to help service men and women make the transition from military to the civilian world. They currently work along side the military’s current service CTP (Career Transition Partnership) to provide a bespoke plan for each individual to help them prepare for mainstream employment.
Gethin Roberts, managing director of Drivers Direct and former RAF serviceman, comments “We have supported the BFRS for many years now and have a long history of employing ex-service personnel as they are often reliable, resourceful and skilful candidates who are able to utilize the skills gained in the forces. We also feel it is important to support individuals who served the country to get settled into civilian life again.”
Established in 2002, Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and fork lift driver’s right through to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers, supplies more than 1000 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors. The company currently has a network of 20 branches across the UK.
