Key Training Apprentices: Where are they now?

Our Apprentice of the Year in 2010 and now the Lead on Disability/Dyslexia Support at Northumbria University - where we originally placed her. She said, "Thanks must go to Key Training for accepting and supporting me when I was young and inexperienced."
Out of school in 2012 to a L2 Business Admin Apprenticeship at Urban Trading then a L3 Customer Service Apprenticeship and now the Packaging & Distribution Manager for the same company.
"From 6th Form to Key Training to a career!," she said.
Five years after her first Apprenticeship started at Living Spaces, Dixon is now their senior lettings specialist/administrator. She has just completed her L3 Apprenticeship and told KeyTraining, "I am now on my L4 Apprenticeship!"
Over the last six years, she has completed four apprenticeships and is now half way through her Degree in BA (Hons) Leadership & Management and continuing her career as Programme Support Co-Ordinator at Newcastle Business School. She said, "I certainly would not be in the position I am today if it was not for Key Training giving me the opportunity to start my journey here at the University."

Her Apprenticeship journey started when she was 17 years old in a Customer Service Apprenticeship at Laserquest. Several years later, now Assistant Manager with her own team at the same employer. She said, "None of this would be possible without the help and knowledge I received from Key Training."
16 years old when joining Key in 2005. Since then, completed both L2 and L3 Apprenticeships and one of the best Administrators we have. O'Hagen has been nominated in our Annual Awards and won & lsquo;Support Person Of The Year’ twice plus part of the & lsquo;Chairman’s Cup’ winning team.
"I enjoy working at Key Training. I like the people I work with and everyone is friendly," she said.
Started an Apprenticeship in Warehouse Administration role at UPS some 7 years ago. Since then, completed both L2 and L3 Apprenticeships and, today, has the responsibility as sole Sales Administrator for the UK and Ireland for UPS SCS. She said, "Completing Apprenticeships with Key Training has given me knowledge and confidence developed my strengths and helped to further my career to where I am today."
From a 1 year Youth Training Scheme with Key Training back in 1983 through to 2 x L4 Qualifications in Management and Care and now a Manager for the last 10 years.
& lsquo;All down to the skills and confidence that I gained with Key Training starting with that YTS over 30 years ago," she said.
Has always wanted to be a Train Driver but needed some skills to get into that Industry. So, after L2 and L3 Apprenticeships with The Hackwood Partnership Doctors Surgery improving his Maths, English and IT skills, he has just started, at 21 years of age, his lifetime career with South West Trains. He said, "With the Communication and Application Of Numbers qualifications Customer Service, all gained via Key Training, I passed all the South West Trains assessments."
An Apprentice at Dudley Child Executive Recruitment in 2011 then progressed to Resourcer and then promoted to Recruitment Consultant via Apprenticeships at both L2 and L3. Now back at Key Training again but, this time, as a Recruitment Consultant in our Leeds Centre.
She said, "An Apprenticeship for me has been such a worthy journey and, reflecting back now, I wish I could have done it sooner."
Having completed both a L2 and a L3 Apprenticeship at Stone Lodge Group, still there but promoted to Assistant Manager/Housing Officer within 3 years. She said, "I am now in a very good position at a young age due to Key Training who have opened many doors for me."
Started an Apprenticeship in the Reservations Department of Nirvana Spa 3 years ago. Since then has completed L2 Apprenticeships in Business Admin and Customer Service and currently on L3 Management Apprenticeship. All have helped to gain 3 promotions within Nirvana Spa.
"The Apprenticeships with Key Training have helped with each promotion and I feel very proud of what I have achieved within the company," she said.
From Administrator in the Post Room at Ward Hadaway, completing both a L2 and a L3 Apprenticeship and, now, as a Paralegal, in middle of a Law Degree to become a Lawyer with same Employer. She said, "This all started with the help of Key Training."
After an NVQ at College, placed by Key Training at Vertu Motors to gain her Apprenticeship. Currently completing CIPD to pursue a career in Human Resources with her Employer.

Started four years ago at Nationwide and, after successfully completing Customer Service at both L2 and L3, was promoted to current role as a Team Manager.
She said, "I have found the NVQ’s helped me dramatically to progress in the last few years. The studying and what I have learnt has helped me get where I am today. The support that my Key Training Assessors provided was excellent."
Wanted a gap year before going to University for a Teaching Degree. However, joined our Study Programme and gained & lsquo;Skills for Employment’ so took up offer of work experience as one of our Classroom Assistants. Completed L2 Apprenticeship in Business Admin and now wants to take a L3 in Learning and Development in his new role as one of our Teaching Assistants.

After A Levels at 18, Key Training placed her in her first Apprenticeship for Business Admin at Eagle Freight and 2 years later has been promoted to Manager and about to start her L3 Management and a L4 thereafter. Her Manager said that, "Between them, they achieved a massive increase in profit last year."
Placed with Rishworth Baxter as an apprentice on telesales 5 years ago and now a partner managing the accounts team which, in turn, includes several Apprentices!
She said, "My Apprenticeship with Key Training was most helpful and a stepping stone that led me on to greater things."
