NUS announced as a partner for leading HR benchmarking study

Every year more than 70 organisations from across the Third Sector take part in People Count to measure key HR metrics and compare the results with their peers. The study helps organisations measure and compare how they perform on key management and HR indicators such as recruitment, absence levels, learning and development, and the HR function. 

The NUS joins six other partners including Charities HR Network, Hospice UK, Mental Health Providers Forum, NCVO, People in Aid and Voluntary Organisations Disability Group who will also be promoting People Count 2015.

Roger Parry, Director of Agenda Consulting said: “We are delighted to welcome the NUS as a partner for People Count 2015, which will ensure preferential rates for their members to take part. People Count is a fantastic management tool which provides evidence of how well an organisation is performing on key measures in comparison with others in their sector. 

“The study will be extremely useful for NUS members to identify what they are doing well and areas to improve in people management and we encourage them to sign up to one of the weekly People Count webinars to find out how the study could benefit their organisation,” adds Mr Parry.

Claire Marsland, HR Senior Consultant at NUS said: “We are excited to be partnering with Agenda Consulting for People Count 2015. It is an opportunity for our members to gain a better understanding of their HR and people management practices and focus their efforts on those aspects which are having an impact on their performance.   It’s also useful for members to be able to compare themselves against other organisations to share insight and best practice, and make improvements where necessary.”

The People Count study is now live and organisations have until 5 June 2015 to take part.

There are preferential rates for NUS Students’ Unions to take part, plus early bird prices available until 8 May 2015. VAT is chargeable on all prices.

The results of the study will be published in August 2015 in a series of six reports:

•         2.1 Composition of Workforce and Diversity

•         2.2 Recruitment, Selection and Retention

•         2.3 Learning and Development & Performance Management

•         2.4 Absence Management

•         2.5 Employee Relations and Reward Strategy

•         2.6 The HR Function 

The outcomes of the study will also be shared at the & lsquo;Results Conference’ on 10 September 2015, which People Count participants and non-participants can attend free of charge.  Those taking part in People Count 2015 are also invited to a product training session on the same day, to analyse their own reports in more depth and network with others who contributed to the study.
