Radley James hosts attracting & retaining diverse talent meeting

The panel consisted of:

• Amir Kabel - Global Diversity & Inclusion Manager (currently Acting Head of D&I) at Vodafone

• Nicky Moffat CBE - Director, Leadership Consultant and Inspirational Speaker at What Good Leadership Looks Like Ltd

• Anthony Watson - Member of the Board of Directors, President & Chief Operating Officer at Bitreserve

• Ann Swain - CEO at APSCo

Moffat chaired the event and kicked off by covering the following topics:

• Defining diversity 

• Setting out the business case and some key statistics

• Reinforcing the need for diversity to be seen as a business imperative rather than as just an HR function.

Amir Kabel, global diversity & inclusion manager (currently Acting Head of D&I) at Vodafone, commented, “There is a fear of the revolving door, where recruiters can bring in the most diverse candidates to companies, however if the culture is not open and inclusive then the candidates will understandably walk back out the door. This will of course reflect badly on both the recruitment agency and the company, so we need to work together to bring the best diverse talent pool, as well as provide an inclusive culture in order to retain and development the diverse  talent”

Paul Garrett, managing director of Radley James, said, “Diversity & Inclusion is something which is constantly evolving, at Radley James we feel as a Recruitment provider within Financial and Technology markets we need to educate our clients on how they can define and innovate ideas for a long term recruitment and retention plan, which ensures they are not excluding top talent.  Following a number of requests from our customers, the Radley James team felt it necessary to put on an event and allow an open discussion based around common obstacles clients and companies are having when trying to reach diversity targets and how they can overcome them.”
