Recruitment Cup fixtures announced

Over 80 teams from across the recruitment profession will be thrashing it out on June 14 for a brand new trophy which was showcased by Arsenal players Olivier Giroud, Robert Pires and Mathieu Debuchy.

This year the tournament will see Reed Global pitted against Angela Mortimer, and CBS Butler go head to head with Venn Group to raise funds for charity The Silver Line - the only free confidential helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people.

Now in its third year, the Recruitment Challenge Cup brings together recruitment professionals and their families for a fun-filled day of football and entertainment. Last year the event attracted over 2,000 attendees who enjoyed live music, food and drink stalls and a bouncy castle which ran alongside the main event.

To acknowledge the enormity of the event, this year, the Recruitment Challenge Cup will form part of the newly launched Recruitment Festival. In addition to previous years’ festivities, the festival will also include an & lsquo; It’s a knockout’ tournament and a 5k run.

Commenting on the draw, Ann Swain, chief executive of APSCo said:

“The tension in the room was almost tangible when teams were drawn for this year’s Cup – I think it’s fair to say that the tournament is a healthy outlet for the sector’s renowned competitive spirit. At the heart of the event is, of course, the football, but I’m proud to say that the Recruitment Challenge Cup has matured into an eagerly awaited summer festival that the whole recruitment profession can enjoy while raising vital funds for a very worthy cause. Good luck to all those competing and I look forward to seeing our members there on the day.”
