Robert Walters releases April City Jobs Index
In April 2014 the volume of jobs was 9,480, while in April 2015 the volume of jobs was 9,765, an increase of 3%.
Month on month, the job total for March 2014 was 9,870 and 9,765 for April 2015, a decrease of 1%.
The company’s data on candidate availability showed there was 2.2 city jobs for each candidate last month.
The ratio of jobs to candidates was as follows:
IT – 1.1
Sales and marketing – 1.1.
Risk – 1.9
Compliance-contract – 2.1
Finance-permanent – 2.4
Other key statistics highlighted in the report include a 105% increase in legal financial services jobs compared to April 2014, an 80% increase in permanent financial services roles compared with a 39% decrease in contract financial services roles.
The volume of sales and marketing jobs also grew 10% compared to April last year, while there was an 39% drop in risk candidates year-on-year.
