TeamJobs HR Forum sheds light on shared parental leave
The Poole-based recruitment specialist welcomed human resources professionals from across the area to the Salterns Harbourside Hotel, where Amy Cousineau, an expert in employment law at Coles Miller Solicitors, explained the new and complex legislation.
Shared parental leave (SPL) regulations came into force on December 1st, 2014 and enable eligible mums, dads, partners and adopters to choose how to share time off work after their child is born or placed with them in the case of adoption.
TeamJobs' first quarterly HR Forum took place in April 2014 at the Hotel Du Vin in Poole.
Attendees come from a mix of local manufacturing, engineering and commercial businesses and include existing and prospective TeamJobs clients.
MD Jason Gault said, "TeamJobs is passionate about its staff, and sharing best practice and advice with other HR professionals is important to us.
"The Forum was, as always, followed by the opportunity to network and we all met some fascinating people."
In addition to the sharing of best practice and legal updates, TeamJobs will soon be using its Forum to discuss topical HR challenges with the help of local professionals in the field.
This will begin at the next Forum where Ali Peck from the Shiny People Company will be leading an interactive session entitled Employee engagement: connecting people with performance.
TeamJobs HR Forums are free to attend but due to their growing popularity places are limited to one per company and local HR professionals.
Anyone interested in attending the next event on Thursday July 9 should contact: tina@teamJobs.co.uk
