Hays reaches 1m followers on LinkedIn

Hays is the first company within the recruitment industry and only the 17th company across all industries to reach this milestone.

It has only taken the specialist recruitment company three years to reach the one million followers mark, with the total number of followers in 2012 amounting to 124,000. Hays is now the 17th most followed company on LinkedIn worldwide and has a potential outreach of 65 million people worldwide through the connections of its followers.

The recruitment company’s presence on LinkedIn includes professional groups within a number of sectors including oil and gas, accountancy and finance, professional services and technology. With a total of 147 managed groups, the forums offer industry insights, expert advice to job seekers and job opportunities.

“Our role is to help match the right skills with the right career opportunity. Building large and strong networks with the world’s best talent is key to making the perfect match and our recruiting experts build these relationships every day” says Alistair Cox, CEO of Hays. “To have reached one million followers on LinkedIn is truly impressive because it shows that we are both embracing this technology effectively and delivering valuable insights and advice to the very people we seek to help our clients and candidates. For Hays to be the seventeenth most followed company in the world, and by far the most followed recruiter, shows that our strategy is working, because when people think about their career, they’re thinking of Hays”.

Dan Dackombe, search and staffing director for LinkedIn Talent Solutions in EMEA, commented “We’re delighted to congratulate Hays as the first recruitment firm to pass the 1m follower mark on LinkedIn. Along with the wider search and staffing industry, Hays plays a key role in helping us connect talent with opportunity through LinkedIn as we help our 364 million members worldwide find, and be found by, their next job.”
