Comensura awarded first MSTAR2 contract with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue

MSTAR2 is a national framework to provide managed temporary agency resourcing services to local authorities, schools, central government, the NHS and wider public sector organisations throughout the UK.

RBFRS has chosen to work with Comensura as a cost effective way of gaining greater visibility and control over its use of agency staff. Working with Comensura will enable it to better manage compliance and also support workforce planning

The original MSTAR framework has proved to be hugely successful, accessed by the majority of local authorities and an increasing number of blue light organisation, as well as a number of other public sector bodies. Comensura was awarded the lions’ share of contracts on the original framework, and are naturally hoping to continue the trend with MSTAR2, which is also open to Central Government and the NHS to access.

Jon Milton, Comensura’s business development director commented, "We’re delighted to be working with RBFRS. Their approach to implementation has been thoroughly proactive, and they view the contract as a partnership. This approach is consistent with the sensible, long term approach adopted by the other blue light organisations that we manage."

Jacky Manning, senior HR adviser, RBFRS said, “As an emergency service, it is vital that we are adequately staffed and have complete confidence that all temporary workers meet our compliance standards. Comensura will help us to ensure we have the right resources available, when we need them, by giving us flexibility and greater control over our use of temporary staff, whilst mitigating the usual risks associated with a contingent workforce.”
