Arranging IPMI can be complex and it’s imperative that cover complies with all the local legislations and regulations of a chosen country. The video offers an overview of the IPMI-related issues that employers need to be aware of on behalf of their globally mobile employees and raises the consequences of insufficient cover and procedures.
Doug Rice, managing director of Jelf International, said, “International Private Medical Insurance can cover everything from ensuring adequate care abroad should someone be taken ill or in an accident, through to cover for kidnap and ransom. It’s vital that companies have adequate insurance for their employees but that they aren’t paying a premium for a policy that is above and beyond their requirements.
“Not having adequate cover in places can lead to unforeseen costs, poor care, language barriers, poor access to local information and local fines, so if properly protecting your staff when they are abroad isn’t enough of a stimulus then some of the other consequences on this list might be.”
