RIDI Awards: three weeks left to submit
Now in their second year, the awards celebrate progress and recognise the success of organisations that are making headway in increasing the inclusion of disabled professionals.
Last year the awards attracted over 50 applications across categories including Innovation in Assessment, Inclusive Partnerships, Employers’ Choice and Overall Candidate Experience. Previous winners included Sky Blue Carillon, CEB/SHL, E:ON, the BBC, Sainsbury’s and Eversheds in partnership with Guidant Group, as well as many smaller employers and recruiters.
Commenting on the nearing deadline, Kate Headley, director of consulting at the Clear Company and spokesperson for the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative said, “I’d like to urge all employers and recruiters who are taking a step in the right direction to engage with disabled talent to step up and share their stories.
“You may not have made earth-shattering adjustments, or feel that you still have further to go on your journey to becoming disability confident, but let me assure you that every step in the right direction is having a significant impact on the prospects of disabled jobseekers.
“The facts speak for themselves. According to recent government figures, there has been a year-on-year increase of 238,000 disabled people in work in the UK – the equivalent of more than 650 more for every day of the year. By sharing your stories, you will inspire other organisations to make small changes to make a big difference.”
Submissions close on the 31st July 2015 and the awards are free to enter and attend.
