Scantec FMCG raise five thousand pounds for hospice

The bi-annual event that took place last month is hosted by Samworth Brothers, one of the UK’s largest food manufacturing organisations. The team of four were dropped at a remote location near Lake Vyrnwy in Powys to battle it out with 90 other teams across a 65 kilometre cycling, kayaking and orienteering challenge through spectacular scenery, punishing mountain ranges and rough terrain.

Divisional Manager of the FMCG team, Sara Frith and colleagues Adam Spelman, Lucy Stokes and Tony Williams worked hard to hit fundraising targets for Claire House and Cancer Research UK, by raising sponsorship, donations, auctions and a charity race night.

Sara said: “Presenting the cheque to Claire House Children’s Hospice was a great moment as it represented the months of training, we are delighted with the total amount we have raised.”

Helen Carlson, corporate development manager for Claire House, said, “Scantec is really setting a precedent for companies going forward on how to engage their employees with their local community. This is another great example of how staff at Scantec really have gone the extra mile for our children! Without our supporters, Claire House would face an impossible task of raising a staggering ?3.4 million needed so Scantec really are helping to make a difference today and indeed tomorrow through creating happy memories for our families that will last a lifetime. THANK YOU.”
