APSCo welcomes new appointment of Director of Labour Market Enforcement

The new Director’s role will set the strategic direction, priorities and budgets of The Employment Agency Standards (EAS) Inspectorate, the National Minimum Wage team and the Gangmasters Licencing Authority and will also lead an intelligence hub to provide a single view of risk and priorities across the spectrum of non-compliance – from accidental payroll errors to serious criminality.

Responding to this announcement, Samantha Hurley, Head of External Relations & Compliance at APSCo said:

“We welcome this co-ordination of enforcement within the labour market and hope that having one Director leading a team to set strategy and policy will mean that any future planned regulation will focus on protecting the potentially vulnerable and therefore reduce the legislative burden and resulting unintended consequences for the professional recruitment sector.”
