ASG International Sponsored SymfonyLive London for the third year
It was the fourth SymfonyLive London event, hosted by the brilliant SensioLabs UK, and marked the 10th Anniversary of Symfony itself. Other sponsors this year included Sainsburys, Spotify, Platform.sh, Time Inc and eZ Systems.
We ran another awesome competition for conference goers, comprised of online entries received in the lead up to the event and hundreds received on the day. Our lucky winner, the owner of a brand new Xbox One, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and NOW TV Entertainment pass was Adam Daley. Weekly prize draws over the next ten weeks will determine the runners up who will each land a set of lightsaber house keys!
The two day conference brought together Symfony professionals and enthusiasts from all over the globe, enhancing their knowledge, getting to know the community and rubbing shoulders with the very best of open source enterprise software development.
SensioLabs UK created a truly inclusive event for Symfony Developers at all levels as well as Drupal Developers looking to learn more about Symfony and its components in preparation for Drupal 8. There were PHP Developers looking to deepen their knowledge on frameworks, best practice and quality PHP development techniques but also Development Managers, System Administrators and other IT professionals with an interest in learning more about Symfony, getting to know the community and sharing ideas. It really was an event for all.
The 17th September was Workshop Day offering a choice of three full day workshops covering Behaviour-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design and Profiling. These fascinating workshops helped give developers the confidence to develop enterprise-level applications with ease and were lead by trained coaches and practicing software engineers.
The following day, Conference Day, was the time to mingle with other conference attendees and listen to some incredible speakers including Fabien Potencier, Co-Founder of SensioLabs, who delivered a fascinating introduction to the forthcoming Symfony 3.0
The event was a resounding success. With each year, the community grows and we have met some incredibly talented, interesting individuals. We are certainly looking forward to the next one bring on SymfonyLive London 2016!
