Be Personnel MD completes Scottish charity cycle challenge

Cycling the 53 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh, she raised much needed funds for Ayr Hospice.

Brunton said, “This was a great fun day that took in some interesting and unfamiliar hilly country side, beautiful scenery, between two fabulous cities, you could not have asked for a better day for cycling.

“This event forms part of my on-going training programme for my major cycle challenge in November cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia which covers 400km over eleven days in aid of UNICEF."

However Brunton is not stopping for breath as her next challenge is a real toughie on Saturday 12th September when she competes in the Total Warrior Ultimate Challenge, which comes to Scotland for the first time.

The venue is Balgone Estate, North Berwick, East Lothian which will swap buckets and spades for fire, ice, and monkey bars as part of some 30 punishing obstacles crammed into a 12km course. Total Warrior has been described as the pinnacle of obstacle course racing and its inaugural Scottish event is being carefully designed to satisfy the Nation’s growing appetite for extreme physical challenges in extremely muddy conditions.

Brunton commented” I have no illusions of this event being anything other than difficult and challenging, but I am looking forward to the combination of running, climbing, wrestling through mud and whatever else it throws at me.

“I love the outdoors and although running a busy recruitment business has its challenges, this makes me focus differently and really motivates me physically and mentally.”

Balgone Estate combines rugged farmland, a 20m-high crag (Balgone Heugh), two lakes, and hundreds of acres of mixed woodland - all set in the shadow of North Berwick Law and its famous whalebone archway so not for the faint hearted!
