Translines Charity Challenge Month raises 20,000
The international recruitment agency launched its Charity Challenge Month as a way to encourage donations for Transline’s two nominated charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and Overgate Hospice.
One of the contributors was National Manager, Sarah Brogan, who organised an in-office bike ride with her colleagues, cycling a distance of 400 miles.
The team started cycling at 10am on Thursday morning, completing the 400 mile-long ride at around 6am on Friday morning.
Inspired by her nephew, Sarah was keen to get involved in the Charity Challenge Month to raise as much money as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust. Sarah said: “It was great to see the Transline team and even some of our clients come together for a cause that is close to my heart.
“My nephew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on Boxing Day last year and during his treatment he has really seen the benefit of the charity.”
Sarah was also joined by colleague Nicola Bond in the novel fundraising activities. Nicola was brave enough to encourage donations to the Charity Challenge Month by promising to shave all her hair off.
Another instance of fundraising was completed through the form of sport – group operations director, Mark Elms, and financial controller, Sean Woodhouse took part in Overgate Hospice’s annual golf day.
Activities on the day included a golf tournament, the longest drive, and prizes for a hole in one, all making a significant contribution to the Charity Challenge Month’s overall fundraising total.
Chris Birkby, operations director and driver of the Charity Challenge Month said: “It was impressive to see the effort and enthusiasm thrown into the charity challenge month and it definitely paid off – the donations flew in!”
Jon Taylor, joint CEO of Transline Group said: “It’s great to see our staff right across the business doing their bit for the community. It really shows what we can achieve when we come together as a team.”
Paul Beasley, joint CEO of Transline Group said: “We are all delighted with the difference we have been able to make to our nominated charities and are already looking forward to our next Transline charity drive!”
