Astute Recruitment to open Nottingham office

Astute Recruitment is an accountancy recruitment agency offering bespoke recruitment solutions to clients and helping candidates to find suitable positions.

Astute is headed by co-directors Mary Maguire and Sarah Stevenson - who was recently awarded SME Business Director of the Year in the Small Business Category at the Institute of Directors (IoD) East Midlands Director of the Year Awards 2015.

The new office will be based at Stanford House in Castle Gate, and will be led by Mary, who has more than 18 years’ experience in recruitment.

Mary said: “We are really excited to be opening a new office in Nottingham, as we work to provide local businesses with a tailored approach to recruitment. We have experienced an increased demand for our services in the region, and this growth reflects this. We are experts in our field, and feel this expansion will help us to significantly expand our client base – particularly amongst SMEs, who are in need of our support.

“We want to expand and have actively engaged in growing our team with several new staff members recently.  We are certain our team of professionals will be able to meet the needs of local businesses in Nottingham.”

The firm is currently undergoing a rebrand, making the arrival of its Nottingham office timely. Astute’s new branding will be unveiled later this year along with a new website – both will be an important platform for future growth.

The Nottingham offering comes following the success of Astute’s Derby office, which has grown rapidly since its inception. The Nottingham team will be working to support business owners looking for talented individuals – from ledger clerks through to qualified finance professionals, including financial controllers and finance directors.

To support the firm’s rebrand, Astute has appointed Simon Gray as a non-executive director. Simon has over ten years’ experience in recruitment and as a qualified chartered accountant is the president of the Nottingham, Derby & Lincoln Society of Chartered Accountants and also the ICAEW business representative for the East Midlands.

Simon said: “When Sarah approached me to get involved in supporting the business I was excited. Both Sarah and Mary are really driven individuals who have a strong vision and a drive to succeed. Astute offers an excellent service and understands the requirements of SMEs. Through the rebrand they’ll be communicating a different message to the market and this is something I’m very proud to be a part of.”

The consultancy currently employs a team of ten and is quickly growing due to an increased demand for its specialist services across the East Midlands.

Astute has worked to secure more than 1,000 jobs for local businesses and is continuing to go from strength to strength.

The consultancy currently works across the East Midlands, recruiting for permanent and temporary finance and accounts staff across Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.
