Pagegroup awarded 'Legal Team Of The Year'

The Legal 500 Awards will be hosting their gala dinner tonight (Tuesday 10 November) to celebrate law firms and in-house teams that are excelling in their field.

Led by Jorge Roche, Director of Legal & Business Affairs, the PageGroup legal team is being commended for their innovative work on employee engagement and their support to the company’s diversity & inclusion agenda on a global level.

“We want our people, and our business, to thrive. This acknowledgment from Legal 500 is very welcome and indicates that in-house legal teams can contribute to improving staff engagement levels,” explains Mr Roche.

“It also reflects our contribution to retaining the highest calibre of people from a variety of backgrounds through comprehensive legal training and encouraging the business to bring these innovative initiatives to the forefront of the company’s objectives.”

The awards are based on the opinions of 250,000 in-house lawyers that Legal 500 contacts throughout the year. Mr Roche and his team have recently been attending roundtables at Legal 500 and other venues discussing various issues, such as in-house solicitors’ retention, management and how an in-house legal team can become valuable business partners to their business.

Mr Roche says: “These discussions were a fantastic opportunity to network with other legal departments and enabled us to gain feedback on the work that we’ve been doing to help promote diversity and inclusion, both internally and externally.

“We also played a key role in creating a D&I Guide for Businesses produced by the Professional Business Services Council (PBSC) intended to help companies within the professional and business services sector identify and take actions to improve diversity and inclusion in their workplaces. This is another clear example of the legal department’s commitment to proactively support key initiatives that have a tangible effect on attracting and retaining the best and most talented people,” concludes Mr Roche.
