The Brightwork Group gives cash injection to Barnardo’s Scotland
Brightwork Group has raised a hearty sum for Barnardo's Scotland this Christmas.
In the six months since June, the Scotland-based agency has raised £1440 for the charity, more than double the donation it made in the summer. The employees raised £720 in a range of initiatives and the directors doubled their money.
Earlier this year, Brightwork employees helped develop a nature trail and tranquil garden for children and support workers at Barnardo's Scotland in Edinburgh, bringing peace into many troubled lives.
Rebecca Mitchell, fundraising manager at Barnardo's Scotland, said, "Everyone at Brightwork should be very proud of what they have achieved. This incredibly generous donation really will go a long way to making a child or young person’s Christmas that little bit more special.
"The Brightwork Group has been a steadfast supporter of Barnardo's Scotland, providing practical help and support which is enormously appreciated."
Brightwork Group chief executive Derek May, said, "Our staff put a great deal of energy, initiative and enthusiasm into their charitable activities and the board of the Brightwork Group is very happy to support them.
"We can think of few better causes than Barnardo's Scotland, which really does have a positive and practical impact on so many young lives."
Barnardo’s Scotland provides more than 122 community-based services throughout the country working with more than 26,500 vulnerable children, young people and their families. It also engages with external organisations to bring about positive change for children, young people and families within Scotland.
