Winners at The National Recruitment Federation Industry Awards 2015


The National Recruitment Federation held its biggest ever annual awards last Friday night. 372 people from the recruitment industry filled “The Great Room” in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.


The awards were judged by an independent panel that had a very hard job this year with entries up 40% on the previous year. On the panel were Dermot Rice, MD of Priority Management; Janice O Rourke, senior manager Hewlett Packard; Mary Cloak of Enterprise Ireland and Anita Holbrow of the Recruitment Employment Confederation UK. The gala ceremony was presented by Gavin Duffy of Dragons’ Den fame.


CPL won the Best Agency of the Year award for agencies employing more than 30 staff and Osborne Recruitment took the Best Agency of the Year award for less than 30 staff. Best New Agency went to Barden Recruitment.


CPL won the “Best in Practice” - Healthcare and Flexsource Solutions took the “Best in Practice” - Light Industrial & Warehousing. Osborne Recruitment took “Best in Practice” - Office & Secretarial for the third year running.


Deirdre Finnerty from CCP Recruitment won Permanent Recruitment Consultant of the Year. Suzanne Fowler from Accountancy Solutions; Sarah Williams Sigmar Recruitment; Siju Paul, TTM Healthcare; Larry McCowen Quest Recruitment and John Hannaway from Recruiters were also shortlisted for the award.


TTM Healthcare’s Lorraine Ryan clinched the Temporary Recruitment Consultant of the Year. The other nominees for the award were Grafton Recruitments’ Sarah Healy; Quest Recruitments’ Avril Doyle; Sigmar Recruitments’ Elaine Murray and Global Medics’ Sandra Whitty. TTM also took the “Best in Practice” Corporate Social Responsibility Award and CareerWise clinched the “Best Online Agency” award.


Quest was presented the Accountancy and Finance category for ‘Best in Practice’ and Executive Connections won the ‘Best Specialist Agency’ award.


CAE Parc Aviation took the “Best in Practice” Pharmaceutical, Engineering and Science.


Sigmar took the “Best in Practice” IT Telecoms & Technical. The company was also awarded two top graduate accolades to Orlaith Dingley & Fiona Joyce, alongside Sarah Healy from Grafton Recruitment and Michelle Zambra from Servisource.


The NRF also awarded Don Keating from the Atlas Recruitment with an Honorary Fellowship award NRF Director Geraldine King told the audience why Keating was nominated to be the recipient of this prestigious award this year and gave a short account how he was instrumental in the formation of the NRF in 1970 and of his outstanding commitment and achievement to the recruitment industry over the 40 years.



Finally, the James Kilbane Special Recognition award was bestowed on Kate Cowhig. Presenting her with the award, DR Paula Kilbane CBE (Kilbane’s wife) told the audience that Kilbane would have been so proud to see Cowhig receive this for all the innovation, lobbying, and her forward thinking.


Dr Kilbane recited how Cowhig helped market Irish nursing graduates as the most sought after in the world and was awarded the first ever contract for international healthcare recruitment in Ireland.


NRF President, Barbara McGrath, commented, “It was another fantastic celebration of our industry and how far we have come in the past 6 years. The Celebrations went well into the early hours with the Fabulous 5th Avenue Party Band providing the music.”
