Cobalt hosts CV workshops for homeless charity
A team of consultants from Cobalt Recruitment volunteered for homeless charity Centrepoint, this month.
They organised the first in a series of CV workshops in order to assist young adults, who are looking to secure employment.
The first interactive workshop kicked off with introductions from the young adults explaining any work experience they had done so far and what they were ultimately looking to do in the future. The group was then split in half to focus on job seeking techniques.
This entailed participants devising CVs for famous celebrities, reviewing CV bloopers to avoid and a Q&A session on covering letters and interview techniques.
Mary Ann Eddleston, recruiter at Cobalt Recruitment, commented, “I was impressed with the seven youngsters that we met on the day. It was fantastic to be able to use our skills in a practical way towards helping Centrepoint beyond our other fundraising activities. We look forward to continuing these workshops to support even more young adults who are being supported by Centrepoint.”
Zaid Gittens, employment officer at Centrepoint, said, “Thanks again for helping out our young people, they all got a great deal out of the session. We are delighted that you are happy to help out again.”
