Lord to be SAFERjobs’ patron
SAFERjobs has released an overview of its February activity.
In February, the organisation reported 59,168 total visits to its site, 106 total reports and a total financial quantity of £34,869.88 in fraud reports.
SAFERjobs has reported that it now has a patron; a Lord from the House of Lords will be supporting the organisation’s campaign in April.
The NHS Jobs UK Governance Board supported SAFERjobs’ partnership and the DH team are currently briefing the Minister in order for it to be given the go ahead. One of the three NHS Frameworks (HTE) have produced a press release about its partnership with SAFERjobs working. It says intelligence about a recruitment agency has led to BIS action.
Crimestoppers have completed the press release around student job scams to be released ahead of the Easter holiday. The National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES) covered job scams in the February Student Job Scam Week. SAFERjobs has been in collaboration with City University to create a short six-minute film on student job scams.
Citizens Advice Bureau have confirmed that job scams will feature in their National Scam Awareness month in May. Recruitment Grapevine will be featuring SAFERjobs in their March magazine. BBC Rip Off Britain have contacted SAFERjobs about a potential job scams programme.

SAFERjobs says it continues to see scams involving fake oil companies (Total Oil) and hotels (Royal Garden Hotel, Royal Crown Hotel, and Thistle Hotels Marble Arch in particular). It requests people check all of these on their sites, but as many of the above are also genuine companies, please ensure you are confident your ads are from the correct sources.
