Suhail Mirza appointed H1 Healthcare chairman

H1 Healthcare has announced that Suhail Mirza has been appointed as its chairman.

Formerly an employment lawyer, Mirza has been involved in various businesses and spent 12 years building a family healthcare business in England which employed over 200 people and which he sold at the end of 2014.

He remains very active in healthcare writing for both Community Care Market News and Healthcare Market News, while he has partnered with investors for more than a decade, helping to build recruitment and support services companies and make acquisitions with both listed and privately held businesses.

Very well known in the world of recruitment, Mirza has written for Recruitment International for the last 10 years and is currently the author of the monthly City Focus and Meet the CEO features.

Pam Easen, founder and CEO at H1 Healthcare, said, "Having joined as non-executive director in September, Suhail has added great value to the Board during this time and I and the Board are delighted that he has agreed to become our Chairman at H1 Healthcare."

She added, "The company has ambitious growth plans for the next phase of its evolution (or perhaps expansion) across the UK.  Suhail's expertise within healthcare as both a business owner and commentator will be invaluable to our business leaders and will help us realise our full potential."

Mirza commented, "I am proud to take the role of Chairman. I have known Pam for some years and over the past few months working with the Board and senior management team it is apparent that H1 is not only a great and profitable business but one whose values and vision will differentiate it in what is a highly competitive and transforming healthcare marketplace. I am excited to be part of the team at a pivotal moment in its history."

H1 Healthcare specialises in nursing and care recruitment. Headquartered in Glasgow it also has offices in Aberdeen, Forres, Slough and Australia and works within both the NHS and independent healthcare sectors.
