Almost 50% of recruitment agencies say NLW preparation has had impact on their firm
Over two thirds of recruitment agencies say that the implementation of the National Living Wage (NLW) will increase the pay rate of temporary workers they place on assignment, according to research by Comensura, a managed service provider for temporary labour.
The company surveyed 183 recruitment agencies that source temporary workers to find out how the NLW will affect the recruitment industry.
Around three quarters of recruitment agencies expect to, on average, increase pay rates for temporary workers by the full 50p increase, according to research.
The research also found that seven out of ten agencies will increase pay rates for temporary workers after the NLW is introduced.
According to the research, nearly half of recruitment agencies say that the NLW has had a heavy or medium impact on their firms. Over 10% revealed it has had no impact on their business.
A third of recruitment agencies have completed all their preparations for the NLW, the report revealed.
