Calian wins DND contract for aircraft maintenance repair training services
Calian Group Ltd. has been awarded a contract by the Department of National Defence (DND) for the provision of aircraft maintenance and repair training services to the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE) in Borden, Ontario.
It says the initial one-year contract is valued at $8.5m. The contract also contains three one year options, which if exercised will increase the total value of the contract to approximately $35m for the four-year contract period.
Under the contract terms, Calian will provide aircraft maintenance and repair training services at CFSATE. This includes services in the areas of course management and course delivery to military personnel, course review and design as well as administrative and technology support. The Calian team states it will play an integral part in the RCAF's plans for the continued provision of quality aircraft maintenance training at CFSATE.
Jerry Johnston, vice president training and engineering services, commented, "For the past 12 years, Calian has been pleased to support CFSATE in the delivery and curriculum development of basic trade courses for Basic Military Occupation Structure Identification (MOS-ID) and advanced trade courses for Occupational Specialty Qualification (OSQ) to RCAF personnel.
