Encore raises more than £20,000 for chosen charities
Staff at Encore Personnel have raised more than £20,000 for their two chosen charities - the British Heart Foundation and Cruse Bereavement Care.
Encore’s director, Chris Hockey, said “It’s great to see everyone in all the offices getting on board and doing their bit for charity. We are proud to have raised so much money for two extremely worthwhile causes.”
The Encore team raised £10,216 for each charity through a series of different events and challenges. A team of 12 volunteers from across the business raised more than £11,000 by completing the 24 Peak Challenge – where they had to conquer 24 peaks in the Lake District within 24 hours. Other fundraising activities included charity walks, ‘dress down days’, quiz nights and golf days in addition to more than £2,000 being raised in collection buckets in the offices.
Hockey added, “We always choose a charity that is close to the hearts of our employees and is the most relevant to their personal circumstances. The British Heart Foundation and Cruse Bereavement Care charities have been selected because they have directly touched the lives of the people at Encore.
“The British Heart Foundation was chosen in memory of one of our team members who tragically passed away last year. Cruse Bereavement Care have also worked closely with members of our team, offering them vital support during an extremely difficult time.”
The British Heart Foundation is an independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK.
Cruse Bereavement Care supports people after the death of a loved one. They provide face-to-face support, group sessions as well as providing informative publications throughout the UK.
