CBRE launches inaugural UK Diversity Week
CBRE has announced the launch of Diversity Week 2016, a week of events across all offices to raise awareness and celebrate diversity and inclusion at CBRE.
The week, which runs from 23rd – 27th May 2016, will highlight the key issues and questions that inclusive work environments face, and raise awareness of this as a business priority, which is vital to the success of a global company and the property industry more widely.
Through a series of events and activities during the week, the company says that keynote speakers from a wide range of its employee network groups will celebrate diversity and inclusion and drive it through the culture of the business. The daily events will aim to encourage thought-provoking discussion and identify the key actions that will make a meaningful difference for our business.
David Hitchcock, executive director and head of building consultancy at CBRE and chair of CBRE’s Diversity Steering Group, commented, “To attract and retain the best people, you need to build a diverse and inclusive workplace. By actively promoting diversity and inclusion, and encouraging discussion around it, we strengthen the advantage we offer our employees, clients, suppliers and the clients we serve.
“We are looking forward to a varied programme of events across our employee network groups and discussion around the business. The week promises to be thought provoking, educational and positive, with the aim of embracing and celebrating differences.”
CBRE is partnering with the National Equality Standard and RICS Quality Mark in order to help drive and measure performance. For further information, please visit http://diversity.cbre.com
