The Best Connection celebrates 25th anniversary
The Best Connection is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The company says it is going to mark the event with a party at Birmingham’s ICC on 7th May 2016.
The Midlands headquartered business, which was positioned 79th in the Sunday Times listing of the UK’s 250 Top Track companies in 2015, was founded by Andrew Sweeney, Neil Yorke and Martin Recci in 1991, with Michael Cooper joining two years later. Since then, the business has developed an extensive network of 80 branches throughout the UK where it supplies temporary labour to the industrial, HGV, retail and warehouse & distribution sectors.
Neil Yorke, director, said, “This milestone is a huge achievement for the company and in particular for all our staff that have made the business what it is today, many of whom have been with us from the start. We thought it was only fitting to get together to celebrate. The biggest challenge was finding a large enough venue and overnight accommodation for everyone in the centre of Birmingham, but we got there in the end.
“Along with our own celebrations we also decided to support a charitable cause as part of the build-up and chose national charity, Fisher House, which is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Throughout the latter part of 2015 and this year our staff have been busy getting creative to raise money for the charity and have done a great job. We look forward to welcoming Fisher House at our celebratory event.”
In 2015 the directors formed a holding company, Strategic Workforce Solutions Group Ltd (SWS), to accommodate The Best Connection, its complementary acquisitions and UK and overseas expansion. In 2014, the business achieved a turnover of over £300m and now employs over 700 staff across its national branch network.
