APSCo raises over £1m for ChildLine
Over the last 15 years the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has raised over £1.1m for the NSPCC’s ChildLine service through its annual fundraising balls.
The donations raised at the charity events, which is considered by many to be the highlight of the recruitment social calendar, have funded the calls of 275,000 children in need of support.
ChildLine is a free counselling service that has helped over 4m vulnerable children in the UK. For 30 years the confidential service has connected children with volunteer counsellors who offer support to young people under the age of 19.
Each year the APSCo ball adopts a different theme, previous ones have included ‘Great Gatsby’, ‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘Bollywood’, and the event is attended by over 400 guest from across the recruitment sector. This year’s ball, which will be held on Friday 18th November, will feature a ‘Down Mexico Way’ theme.
Ann Swain, global CEO at APSCo, commented, “We are immensely proud to have supported ChildLine for 15 years, raising over £1 million to help fund such a vital service is an incredible achievement. It is always wonderful to see the recruitment profession come together and raise money to support the fantastic work that ChildLine does, and everyone who donated should be proud of their contribution to keeping such a vital service running.
“We’re hoping to raise even more than the £48,000 donated at our last ball with this year’s ‘Down Mexico Way’ theme. As always guests can expect authentic entertainment, inspired 5-star cuisine, champagne, and a diamond draw. We’re expecting a fantastic turn out once again and tickets are selling fast.”
