“Cultural similarities” key to merger success, says Axon Moore
Axon Moore is celebrating the first anniversary of its merger with a record half year and a nationwide recruitment drive.
Since the merger in June last year between Axon Resourcing and Watson Moore, the company has opened new offices in London and Birmingham and recruited 15 staff with plans to replicate this growth in the next 12 months. The company now has over 70 staff working out of seven offices nationwide.
Axon Moore managing director, Andy Edwards, commented, “Both firms had strengths in different markets and the merger means we can now service both large corporate clients and SMEs from a single platform. It’s great to grow but we’ve worked hard to retain the personal feel that clients and clients appreciate from an independent.”
Asked what he sees as the key to a successful merger, Edwards said, “We have been extremely fortunate that both businesses are on the same page culturally. You can’t underestimate how much is involved in the integration of two businesses and one thing we didn’t have to deal with was massive cultural variances which was a relief! The teams have just got on with recruiting while the scenery shifted around them and the results are a reflection of that.”
