Eagles raises over £3,000 for charity
A team of five from Folkestone-based Red Eagle completed the London2Brighton 100km Ultra Challenge on Saturday 28th May.
Red Eagle says they are all passionate about raising money for the Make A Wish Foundation - A charity who grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Starting at Richmond, in London at 9:20 am on 28th May and walking through the night they all completed their 62mile walk the following morning in Brighton.
Jason Alderson, group finance director, said, “The last few miles we kept on shuffling step after step, absolutely exhausted - this was by far the toughest thing that all of us have ever done. Having a glass of champagne thrust into my hand at the end was the sign we had actually completed one of the biggest challenges in the country.”
At the start of the event they were the top team fundraisers with a £2,443.86 pledged. After the event, this rose to £3,364. They say they are now within sight of doubling their target, so if anyone would like to donate they can do so at www.justgiving.com/REDwalk.
