The FISER Group CEO awarded Rising Champion award by WeAreTheCity
Selected from over 100 individual nominations from 80 cross sector companies, the Rising Champion Award recognises senior leaders who actively support the female talent pipeline, and is a new category for the 2016 Awards. Nominations for this award are individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to gender, eg network leaders, directors, MDs or C-Suite individuals who are championing women either inside or outside their organisations.
Thesiger’s award recognises his contribution to championing diverse human capital processes and in particular, women in financial services. In 2010 he co-founded The FISER Group, which includes BRUIN Financial, of which the senior leadership team is almost entirely female and four are part-time return to work mothers. The company says Thesiger has been instrumental in a number of gender diversity initiatives in human capital, including the creation of the Women in Financial Institutions Index (WiFI Index), which tracks the recruitment and engagement of women in financial services, and a Financial Services Diversity Forum, which provides an opportunity for senior decision makers in the industry to discuss strategies and approaches to diversity in the sector.
The annual WeAreTheCity Awards draws nominees from across the UK and Northern Ireland and consist of over 20 categories, each celebrating the achievements of women in a variety of areas of expertise. Nearly 1,000 individual entries were received for this year’s award from over 300 different companies across all industry sectors including defence, law, media and journalism, and banking.
The WATC Awards are sponsored by Barclays and supported by leading organisations including AON, Bloomberg, BNY Mellon, EY, Keir, Lloyd’s, ISS, Morgan Stanley, Newton Investment Management, PwC, Reed Smith, Societe Generale, Soctim, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Virgin Media Business and Worldpay.
