Blue Arrow awarded IIP Platinum accreditation

Blue Arrow has been awarded Investors in People Platinum accreditation.

The Platinum accreditation is currently held by only eight employers from over 14,000 IIP accredited organisations across the globe. 

The celebrations started on Wednesday 29th June at the 2016 International IIP Awards ceremony at the glittering Grand Hall of Old Billingsgate, London, where Blue Arrow’s managing director, Fraser McLeod, was presented with the IIP plaque by head of Investors in People, Paul Devoy.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Introduced in 2015, Platinum is its highest level of accreditation, recognising truly outperforming organisations worldwide.

Devoy said, “We’d like to congratulate Blue Arrow Group. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. Blue Arrow join the top percentile of Investors in People organisations and should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Notable areas of investment which supported Blue Arrow’s achievement, include:

  • The launch of its Enhancing People’s Lives vision in January 2015.
    The vision which has seen staff come together under a profound appreciation for their part in people’s work-life happiness and subsequently personal lives, has made its mark across every level of the organisation.
  • The introduction of REC and NVQ-recognised, professional recruitment qualifications to support its Career Path programmes for all staff, from apprentice through to management level.
  • The alignment of an Employee Council as a listening and feedback group to support the Investors in People framework.
  • The calibre and reach of the annual staff conference and subsequent roadshows, which involve the senior management team visiting all staff offices across the UK over one-month, to check understanding of key messages and listen to staff feedback.

IIP assessor, Gwen Carter-Powell, who worked closely with Blue Arrow’s leadership team and Employee Council as part ​of the investigation process, commented, “Blue Arrow are an inspirational organisation, it is clear their vision of ‘Enhancing People’s Lives’ is alive throughout the business. People truly understand, live and breathe the core values, leaders inspire success and the business strives to continually improve.”

McLeod added, “Our people are at the heart of our success and we will continue to listen to them for ways that we can improve. We want every member of staff to feel proud to be part of the Blue Arrow team.”
