Sphere Digital Recruitment supports its charity of the year with charity day
Sphere Digital Recruitment donated transportation and lunch to its 2016 charity of the year, Family Action, on Saturday 18th June as part of its charity day. Free entry to Drusillas Park Zoo, East Sussex was provided by Drusillas.
Family Action transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to children and families who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the country. The charity has been building stronger families since 1869 and today provides support for over 45,000 families through over 140 community based services.
During their visit to Drusillas Park, the families encountered a host of furry and feathered creatures along the zoo route including meerkats, penguins and lemurs. They also jumped aboard the Thomas & Friends™ train, explored Hello Kitty Secret Garden and enjoyed a BBQ lunch on Explorers Lawn.
David Holmes CBE, Family Action’s chief executive said, “We would like to thank everyone from Drusillas Park and Sphere for organising this special day and for their fantastic generosity. The children and their families had a wonderful day out which will be remembered and treasured for a long time to come. A day out like this gives children and families a welcome break from all the other pressures in their lives and is such a wonderful gift.”
Sphere CEO, Ed Steer, added, "The kids and everyone involved in the day had such a wonderful time, from riding on Thomas, going on the rides in Hello Kitty Secret Garden, taking part in the Zoolympics and exploring all of the other attractions - it really was a day to remember.”
“Family Action does a fantastic job and we are so pleased that we could support and arrange such an amazing day out. A massive thanks to Drusillas and their staff who made us feel so very welcome and like true VIPs, and a big thanks to the guys from our team at Sphere who gave up their time to arrange the day and for helping to make it such a special one."
