EDF announced as Best Place to Interview in 2016 by Glassdoor

Glassdoor has announced the winners of its annual Candidates’ Choice Awards, honouring the Best Places to Interview in 2016 in the UK. Unlike any other workplace awards, the Glassdoor Candidates’ Choice Awards are based solely on the input of interview candidates who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback, by completing an interview review, where they rate their overall interview experience, describe the interview process, provide questions asked, rate the difficulty of the interview and share other insights related to their interview process.

Over the past year, Glassdoor analysed feedback from UK-based candidates who interviewed at companies with 1,000 or more employees. To determine winners of the UK awards, Glassdoor evaluated interview experience ratings.

Winners are ranked based on their positive interview experience rating during the past year, from 14 September, 2015 to 13 September, 2016. For reporting simplicity, data are rounded to the nearest whole number, though actual calculations extend beyond the thousandth to determine rank.

Carmel Galvin, Glassdoor CHRO, commented, “The candidate experience is a crucial part of the employment process.

“If employers succeed at this stage, they start off on the right foot with employees throughout their journey with the organisation. By honouring companies that excel at the interview process, we aim to help people find jobs and companies they love and in turn help employers hire top talent.”

The 2016 Best Places to Interview in the UK list features businesses across diverse industries, spanning retail, accounting & legal, finance, manufacturing and more. Winners are determined by interview experience, as rated on Glassdoor by UK based candidates who anonymously elected to share feedback on Glassdoor between 14th September, 2015 to 13th September, 2016. To be considered, employers eligible for the list must have received at least 25 interview reviews during the eligibility period and have 1,000 or more employees. In the event of a tie, employers with the shortest average interview duration during the eligibility period take the higher ranking position.

Sandra Henke, director of people & culture at Hays, commented, “We are delighted to win this award, which reflects the emphasis we put on offering a strong candidate experience. We have a company culture of being honest and transparent and are always clear from the outset about what we expect from our candidates and what they can expect in return. To be ranked so highly and to be the only recruiter in this list is another great achievement for us and testament to the great relationship we build with our candidates from day one, which ensures we continue to secure the industry’s top talent.”
