f1 recruitment launches f1 search division

Further to the launch of its new contracts division earlier in 2016, f1 recruitment has announced the creation of f1 search, offering its clients the capability to resource at the most senior ‘C Suite’ end of the marketing, digital and communications talent spectrum.


f1 search will mirror f1 recruitment’s ethos of recruiting the best and most diverse talent into the most senior roles in marketing, media and communications – diversity remains a strong focus for CEO, Amanda Fone, who is a powerful advocate of creating leadership teams which reflect today’s consumer landscape of culture and internationalism, as she continues to drive the agenda across senior talent pipelines.


The division will be headed by Amanda Fone and the senior consultancy team will include Kat McCreadie, Caroline Cookson and Nikki Drinan supported by a small team of researchers. It will operate out of the company’s new premises at Waterhouse Square in Midtown, London EC1. Between them the Search team has a wide network built up over many years in the industry, of senior candidates with strong track records in the Marketing and Communications sector. f1 search is already working with leading companies across multiple industry sectors including entertainment, sports, FMCG, retail + leisure, travel, financial services, FinTech and telco & technology.


However, according to Fone, there is a real need for employers to be much more creative and committed in their search for senior executive talent and that includes genuinely actively looking to recruit talent from BAME backgrounds:


She commented, “If we look at the banking, finance and professional services sectors as well as technical start-ups, BAME candidates are being strongly wooed by hiring employers.  It’s time that the MMC sector truly woke up to the opportunity. Too often I am asked to provide diverse shortlists for senior roles in marketing and communications and it’s difficult to do this when not enough talent is coming in at entry and midlevel and working its’ way through to the top. 


“One of the ways we are addressing the lack of senior BAME talent is through our #BAME20/20 programme. Our aim is to create a movement of personally committed BAME and non BAME ambassadors with up to 15 years MMC experience, where MMC has been their career of choice. These ambassadors will, in time, act as mentors to younger entrants to the MMC career. We expect and encourage our ambassadors to work with the programme’s senior advisors to seek direction and help to reach the very top of the industry. f1 search’s longer term objective is to create and add to the pipeline of the very best and most diverse talent for chief marketing officer and communications director roles within leading organisations.”
