HiredByMe launches Portable PES, tackling a £180m problem for contractors
HiredByMe, the compliance and onboarding firm, today launches the Portable PES – a product allowing contractors to earn more by spending more time on engagements and less time unpaid on the bench.
Over the last few years requirements for pre-employment screening (PES) of contractors have become increasingly complex. As a result UK financial services contractors report delays costing them upwards of £180m a year as they wait unpaid on the bench for new engagements to start.
The Portable PES product allows contractors to complete their checks in advance of finding an engagement, and then carry their data from role to role. This allows them to earn more as they spend more days engaged and reduces the time and effort spent on repeated screening.
The Portable PES is already accepted at 40 recruiters covering thousands of roles, with new firms constantly joining the scheme.
Speaking at the launch today, Ian Carter, a financial services contractor with 25 years experience, commented, “I’ve been regularly frustrated by delays in starting new contracts, and as a result I’ve lost out on thousands of pounds in earnings.
