Recruiters offered chance to become a 'PR champion' by ClearlyPR

A nationwide series of one day workshops have been launched that are aimed at providing recruitment agency owners and their teams with the opportunity to learn for themselves how to create successful PR and marketing campaigns that will grow their brand, better engage with clients and candidates, and increase their sales pipeline.

Delivered by ClearlyPR, the ‘BECOME A PR CHAMPION’ series of one day workshops will be held in London (22nd October), Manchester (8th November) and Cardiff (22nd November). Further dates for Leeds and again in London will be announced soon.

Paul MacKenzie-Cummins (pictured), managing director at ClearlyPR, said, “Competition between agencies has never been higher. The last three years has seen more than 12,000 new recruitment companies enter the market and that has pushed marketing and branding to the top of the recruitment agenda.

“The so-called ‘war for talent’ is increasingly being fought on two fronts. First, there is the battle to win the best clients and candidates and second is the battle to secure the top consultant talent that is needed to help ambitious agencies realise their growth plans: Having a strong and active presence in the market is no longer a nice-to-have, it has become a business imperative.”

According to figures obtained from Companies House, around 3,000 new recruitment businesses registered in England and Wales between January and June of this year, with three out of five recruitment leaders predicting greater competition from both new and existing agencies over the next few months.

MacKenzie-Cummins added, “As more and more agencies strive to become an agency-of-choice within the sectors they operate, we will continue to see more investment in ways that help agencies maximise the candidate, client and consultant experience.

“We have seen a marked increase in demand from agencies since the turn of the year who are looking for support and guidance across all aspects of their PR and recruitment marketing. This ranges from social media and online content to getting their name in the media of most interest to them and generating more from their existing brand – sometimes even overhauling what they have in favour of an image that is more representative of who they are as an agency.

“It is an exciting time to be in recruitment, but the days when recruiters could simply rely on their name to stay ahead of the curve are fast drawing to a close. Today’s new entrants are battling hard to get their name ‘out there’ – it’s a question of who is going to be the most savvy marketing communicators.”

The one-day workshops will provide those recruiters with responsibility for their agency promotion with the tools to:

  • How to win business through their agency blog and social media
  • How to reach new markets and attract new customers through PR
  • How to get their agency name 'out there' and gain the interest of the media
  • How to become seen as an industry thought-leader
  • How to use content to better engage with their candidates and clients
  • How to boost their profile as an employer in their own right and better attract new consultants to work for them
