Russam GMS appoints associate director for human resources

Russam GMS has appointed Nicki Lawrence as associate director for human resources to set up an HR ‘centre of excellence’ at Russam GMS.


Lawrence will source experienced HR specialists for companies across all industry sectors, both public and private, including financial services and industry as well as charity and not-for-profit, developing productive relationships with existing clients and the many HR specialists working with Russam, whilst identifying new clients and candidates.


With 20 years’ experience working in senior HR roles, mostly in financial services, Lawrence has a strong understanding of HR leadership, talent management and business change and transformation. She has particular experience in employee reward and recruitment.


For the past eight years Lawrence worked as an HR interim, covering head of HR, reward and business transformation roles. Most recently she worked for the Civil Aviation Authority, setting up its centralised resourcing function. She holds a Psychology degree and has also worked with Bank of America, JP Morgan and Citibank.


Lawrence (pictured) said, “I’m really excited to be working for Russam GMS – a company I have known for many years. Having worked at senior level in HR on both client and interim side, I have a keen understanding of what our clients need from their HR leaders.

I can help these companies find the best HR talent to fulfil their business needs.”


Lawrence will also be involved in Devonshire House Network, the HR director’s networking group run by Charles Russam and sponsored by Russam GMS. She will actively support Russam’s range of businesses including Trustees Unlimited and the international WIL Group and also promote the board-level volunteering programme ‘Step on Board’, run by Trustees Unlimited and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

Lawrence is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and a member of the IIM (Institute of Interim Managers), London HR Connection and the City HR Association.
