Celebrating with the RI UK Awards 2016

RI’s UK Awards are taking place on 20th October at The Guildhall in London. We’re really excited to be celebrating another fantastic year in the recruitment industry and can’t wait to hand out those Awards to the winners on the evening.

We took some time to speak to you about our Awards and it sounds like you’re pretty excited too! If you’ve got a memory you’d like to share, or simply can’t wait to celebrate with us next week, why not send us your comments?

Vicki Codd, marketing director at NES Global Talent: “I look forward to the Recruitment International awards every year and encourage my NES colleagues to attend all the awards they host around the world. It’s always a great night celebrating recruitment excellence with our peers and industry suppliers.”

Ricky Knight, sales director at Global Resourcing: “Too often, awards do’s (sic)seem to be something of a ‘team night out’ or an ‘achievers lunch club (gone wrong)’, with sponsors hunting in packs and awards/speeches that make the Oscars seem brief. Having enjoyed the RI Awards for the first time last year, I’m delighted to say that we will be returning this year. 

“David, Teri and the team have succeeded in creating a polished evening which, as a result of being attended by just a couple of senior people from each company, is fun while retaining an atmosphere that befits an awards ceremony that truly carries the gravitas the winners, nominees and attendees deserve.”

Jon Cox, recruitment director at CCL Global: “The Recruitment International First Choice 2015 Awards Dinner was very glitzy, [for] everyone who is everyone (or at least the top 500 of them!). As well the Winners, the big question was if the tree in the centre was real, and how great Ann Swain would look in the Queen Elizabeth I costume - off with his head!”

Della Wolfe, co-owner of The Curve Group: “I really enjoyed the RI event last year, it was a fabulous venue surrounded by our peers who genuinely wanted to be there to have a good time and celebrate excellence. There were some really innovative ideas and a real opportunity to see the positive impact that our industry can make on the economy. And of course the wine flowed, and the food was fantastic, I am really looking forward to attending this year.”

Cosima Wagner, marketing manager at Daniel Owen: “Last year’s awards were fantastic, held in a great location and really well put together. Celebrating all things and people in ‘Recruitment’ it’s a rare opportunity to meet with faces both old and new under one roof, an evening not to miss!”

Deenu Patel, managing director at ID Medical: “ID Medical was delighted to be named Best Recruitment Company to Work For (£100m+) at the 2015 Recruitment International Awards. Making ID Medical an amazing place to work is really important to us, so it's great to be recognised for our efforts.

“The awards ceremony was a fantastic evening of celebration with hundreds of leading organisations. It was the perfect way to celebrate the UK recruitment industry's strengths.”

Jeanette Barrowcliffe, finance director at Meridian Business Support: “The Recruitment International Awards are always a great event and the night is made even more exciting due to the fact that you don’t know if you have been shortlisted until you actually get there! It’s also a great opportunity to network with other industry professionals and we will certainly be entering the awards again this year.”

Paul Goodman, founder and board member at Goodman Masson: “There is a standard formula with awards nights: A B-list celebrity, big screens and blasting music. This was altogether more personal. There is a sense that the awards themselves are taken seriously and that there is genuine admiration from the Recruitment International team for the winners.”
