TARGETjobs & J.P. Morgan to deliver tech events for female students

TARGETjobs is partnering with financial services firm, J.P. Morgan to deliver a series of events in London, Glasgow and Nottingham for female undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in technology.

Now in its seventh year, TARGETjobs' program IT’s not just for the boys!, seeks to address the need for more female undergraduates in the technology sector.  Through a series of talks, skills-building workshops, technology-based team challenges and recruiter discussions, it gives female students an exclusive opportunity to experience the passion and excitement of working in technology and to speak directly to firms offering fantastic career opportunities.

All applicants to IT’s not just for the boys! undertake a rigorous selection process.  In 2015, nearly 1000 undergraduates from over 70 different UK universities applied to the programme, with more than 250 selected to participate one of the four events. As well as presenting valuable insights into life at their organisation and offering advice on how to stand-out as the best candidate in the recruitment process, attending employers subsequently offer selected students unique experiences such as the opportunity to visit their offices and meet key personnel.J.P. Morgan employs over 44,000 technologists globally and employs thousands of technologists in the UK, at hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bournemouth. The firm spends over $9 billion on technology each year, including cyber security and investments in financial technology start-ups.
