APSCo Awards for Excellence 2017 winners announced

The winners of the 2017 APSCo Awards for Excellence - sponsored by NatWest and 6CATS International – were announced this afternoon (18th October) at a business luncheon with guest speaker, David D’Souza, head of London at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The keynote speech covered issues including skills shortages, retention, identifying and maximising untapped talent pools and the value of a trusted recruitment partner.

Ann Swain, APSCo chief executive, said, “These awards are now firmly recognised as the most prestigious accolade in professional recruitment and are a unique indicator of standards throughout the sector. The annual event has become the premier showcase for innovation, best practice and outstanding achievements which acts as a catalyst for firms to attract publicity and build their brand amongst key stakeholders.

“We are no longer surprised by the volume and quality of entries that we receive each year, which, as always, invokes a great sense of pride here at APSCo. A commonality which all shortlisted organisations share is a strong commitment to training and development – and I’m sure it is no coincidence that this is why these companies maintain such high professional standards and excel in innovation. Faye Lewis, head of marketing at Montreal Associates, said, “We’re thrilled to have won the Diversity and Inclusion Award at the APSCo Awards for Excellence. Diversion and Inclusion is something we care passionately about and we couldn’t be happier to receive such a prestigious award.”

Oliver Castle, Oliver James' group managing director, commented, “Oliver James prides itself on being ahead of the curve in growth strategy, something we have consistently shown year on year. To lead this category in 2014, 2015, 2016 and now 2017 is clear validation from the industry that our position is unwavering – and unchallenged.”

Simon Blockley, managing director of Guidant Group, added, “The APSCo Awards for Excellence have a reputation for being extremely rigorous, the bar is notoriously high and to be recognised just once is no small feat. For our hard work to be validated by independent experts three years running is phenomenal.

“Our success can be attributed to our amazing team. It’s a competitive market and differentiation is very difficult, but our strategy of placing the satisfaction of our key customer groups at the heart of what we do is something that our people passionately deliver – and this is reflected in our impressive net promoter scores and the fact that the majority of our supply partners rate us as the best RPO/MSP they work with. To be accredited in this way, by such a highly respected third party, gives our employees yet another reason to be proud to be part of #TeamGuidant.”
